The Crew Isn't a November Game Anymore…

I’m vehemently looking forward to Ubisoft’s Open World racer The Crew. I love the good ol’ US of A, and the prospect of driving from the Bay-Area of Northern California to Miami sounds mighty appealing to me. Too bad the game’s been pushed back again.

That cross country driving fix is gonna have to wait just a little bit longer. According to Ubisoft, the game has been pushed back to December 2nd, away from its original November 11th release date. In addition to this, another round of closed beta was announced. This sounds very similar to another high-profile Ubisoft game that got delayed out of November only one year ago…something about dogs?

I had the pleasure of trying the game out at GameStop Expo earlier this year. Admittedly, I felt like the game could have used another couple months of work beneath the hood. The underlying game looked like a grand ol time, but on the PS4 copy I played the framerate was having a rough time keeping above even 24 frames per second. It felt like I was playing a slideshow, even though the game itself was a lot of fun.

Hopefully, this new-found extra time will give Ivory Tower the time they need to clean it all up, and make this the open world racer we’ve been waiting for. In the meantime though, Forza Horizon 2 is doing a really good job of scratching that itch.
