Mike's 2014 Anime Year-in-Review

Some year huh? 2014 was good for anime. It may not have been as good as 2013 which produced such monsters as Attack on Titan and Monogatari: Second Season, but it was still damn good. I liked it. A lot. You take your good shows with your bad but no matter what, anime is constantly getting better and it showed. The thrill of finding new shows, characters, songs, and stories to love every year is just intoxicating. Once the year is over, it’s nice to take a step back and think about the gifts the year gave us. With that said, this is going to be more of a rundown than any really in-depth analysis. i I kinda did that already, but I can still provide. If analysis is what gets you motor running then reference my fall, summer, and spring season reviews. To hear all of our thoughts about the entire year in anime, make sure you check out these podcasts. Trust me, they’re worth the listen. Now then…

Final Thoughts

We started The Critical D back in May of last year. Before that, I hadn’t written a single review in probably over a year. Now, with the site in tow, I’ve been able to stick to a semi-regular schedule. I’ve been able to actually sit down and write my thoughts in a concise and coherent manner instead of just shouting them at Brian, Matt, Ruben and Moses like I usually do. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve spent entire nights on reviews sometimes, but I think that has been time incredibly well spent. To the people who read my reviews ii, you have no idea how much that means to me. Truly, no idea. To Brianiii, Matt, Rubeniv, and Moses, I’m not sure what I did to deserve you guys but god blessed me by putting you guys here. v You guys disagree with my thoughts all the time vi but never stifle me and allow me to let my creativity run wild. I can’t thank you guys enough for coming on this journey with me and god damn, I hope we get to do this sh** for years to come. vii Usually I have some video that’s funny or clever only to me but I’ve run out of ideas. So I’ll leave you with an old favorite…
